Basic Function: The Esthetician provides professional facials, waxing and makeup services to our guests at the Spa. They must possess a thorough knowledge of the skin, have excellent facial massage and skin extraction techniques, possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our spa's specific facial treatment offerings.

Work Performed:

  1. Read and adhere to schedule postings in regards to shifts, room assignments, and the computer scheduling system.
  2. Provide consistent professional facials, waxing and makeup services in accordance with spa protocols and accepted industry practices.
  3. Provide all guests with consistent services even when booked by the hour for a minimum six-hour period. Treatment durations include 15, 30, 60, 75, 90, and 120 minute. Be qualified for 80% of the facial, waxing and makeup services offered.
  4. Lead by example and be an effective role model for guests and staff. Maintain a positive, cooperative team attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  5. Be prompt with appointments, quality of work and attitudes with guests. Begin services on time and perform all services within the time frame established for each treatment.
  6. Handle guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously. Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.
  7. Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas.
  8. Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals.
  9. Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.

Responsibility & Authority:

  1. Must be knowledgeable about all resort services and amenities.
  2. Properly care for equipment, use proper amounts of product abiding by all product control guidelines to assist with cost controls. Maintain and ensure adherence to service standards.
  3. Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
  4. Understands that scheduling is based on occupancy, which may result in a varied work schedule. Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
  5. Maintain and reinforce a safe work environment by filling out maintenance request forms and suggesting improvements of procedures, etc.
  6. Read and adhere to scheduled postings in regards to shifts, room assignments, and the computer scheduling system.
  7. Actively promote home care programs, post treatment communication and follow-up, meeting minimum retail sales goals.
  8. Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa's policies and procedures. Be informed about policy, procedures and communication.
  9. Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
  10. Wear proper uniform and maintain a high standard in regard to personal appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
  11. Keep communication with guest to a minimum as well as on a professional level, only to be initiated by the guest. At no time will the solicitation of gratuities be tolerated. Handle guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  12. Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  13. Esthetician is empowered to determine when to terminate a treatment in the event it becomes unprofessional and/or uncomfortable for either party.
  14. Practices the 10-5-3 rule in relation to guests and to co-workers.

Minimum Requirements:
Essential: Must hold and maintain a current state license. Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness and beauty solutions to meet the needs of our guests. Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality. Must possess effective listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge. Must be a team player and possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
